Campus involvement has proven to be one of the most critical factors in persistence toward graduation. NIU offers over 200 student organizations and leadership training opportunities for students to become involved in campus activities. These organizations include but are not limited to the Student Association, volunteer organizations, fraternities and sororities, mentoring programs, academic organizations, and intramural and intercollegiate athletic programs. Students may also become involved as orientation leaders, campus tour guides, and resident assistants.
